Therapy intensives at Fuego Therapy in Arlington TX

Have you carried the emotional weight of your migration story for years but never had time to deal with it? You’ve been busy surviving, taking care of others, working, keeping your head down. Maybe you’ve wanted to go to therapy, but life doesn’t allow for weekly sessions. Still, something inside of you knows it’s time to slow down and give your story the attention it deserves.

You may have been the one translating for your family, handling financial responsibilities, or supporting others through transition and trauma, all while hiding your own needs. Therapy intensives are for people like you: people who are ready to heal but need a focused, dedicated space to do it. These half-day or full-day sessions are built to help you process the layers of migration, loss, identity shifts, and survival without needing months of weekly appointments.

I’m Ivon Herrera, a trauma-informed therapist who offers personalized therapy intensives for adults navigating migration-related pain and responsibility. Using Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and EMDR, I help you process what’s been buried, reconnect with your strengths, and build clarity about what comes next. These intensives are made for your pace and your story.

FAQs

What is an intensive?

A therapy intensive is a focused, short-term therapeutic experience designed to support deep healing and meaningful progress in a condensed amount of time. Instead of weekly sessions, therapy intensives offer extended sessions, typically lasting 3, 6, 9, or 12 hours, structured over one or more days.

At Fuego Therapy, we use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to guide the intensive process. Each intensive begins with a 15-minute consultation and a 90-minute intake session to tailor the experience to your goals, followed by the intensive work and a follow-up session about four weeks later.

How could I benefit from an intensive?

Therapy intensives are ideal for those looking to work through a specific issue or gain clarity without the time constraints of traditional weekly therapy. You may benefit from a therapy intensive if:

  • You feel stuck and want to make faster progress.
  • You’re navigating a major life transition or processing trauma.
  • Weekly therapy doesn’t fit your schedule or urgency.
  • You want to focus deeply on one particular concern (e.g., grief, relationship patterns, burnout).

By dedicating uninterrupted time and energy to your healing, a therapy intensive can accelerate insight, regulation, and emotional clarity—creating space for long-lasting change.

When is the availability for an intensive?

Intensives are offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Do I have to be an existing client to book an intensive?

No. Therapy intensives are available to both new and existing clients. You don’t need to be in weekly therapy with Ivon to participate.

Where are the intensives held?

Sessions take place at Fuego Therapy’s Arlington, Texas office, a calm and welcoming space. Virtual intensives may be available on a case-by-case basis, depending on the clinical need.

How do I know if an intensive is right for me?

If you feel like you need more than weekly therapy, are looking for a deeper dive into a specific issue, or are ready for focused healing, an intensive may be the right fit. The consultation call is a great first step to find out.
