About the Presenter
Ivon Herrera is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the owner of Fuego Therapy Counseling Services PLLC in Arlington, Texas. She specializes in working with immigrants, children of immigrants, and individuals navigating intergenerational and cultural challenges. Ivon is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and integrates this trauma-focused approach alongside Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Narrative Therapy to support clients in processing complex experiences and building resilience.
With over 500 mental health evaluations completed for immigration cases, including hardship waivers, VAWA, U visas, T visas, and asylum. Ivon brings expertise in culturally responsive, trauma-informed assessment and care. Her clinical and professional work bridges cultural context, mental health, and resilience, making her uniquely equipped to train counselors in topics related to immigrant experiences, generational trauma, and culturally sensitive counseling practices.
