Hi, I’m Ivon Herrera, a bilingual therapist and founder of Fuego Therapy Counseling Services. I work with adults who have carried the quiet weight of migration, whether you physically crossed borders or grew up translating, caregiving, and navigating two worlds at once. Maybe you’ve always been the strong one, putting your needs last to protect your family. If you’ve found yourself asking “Where do I belong?” or “When will it finally be my turn to rest?” You’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep surviving in silence.

My journey into this work began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UT Tyler. Since becoming a counselor in 2019, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals navigating generational expectations, identity conflict, grief, and the emotional impact of immigration. While my degrees gave me clinical tools, it’s been the stories and resilience of my clients that have shaped my purpose and deepened my commitment to this work.

I offer a warm, culturally responsive space grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and EMDR. That means we’ll focus on what’s already working in your life, while also healing the wounds that are still held in your mind and body. In addition to weekly therapy, I provide half-day and full-day intensives for those seeking deeper work in a shorter time. I also conduct trauma-informed mental health evaluations for immigration cases, honoring each story with compassion and care.

Whether you’re ready to explore old wounds, reconnect with the parts of you that got lost along the way, or finally prioritize your own healing—this is your space. You’ve made it this far, and that already says so much about your strength. Let’s take the next step together.
